You need to catch up on current events. The U. S. is living off
money we borrow from foreigners.

You are right a significant sector of our economy is supported by investment
cash from other countries. Yet we still provide more foreign aid than any
other two countries combined. (Well almost, UK and Japan combined do a
little more than we do. But it is close enought for government work.)

If you do take the time to look at that page please note that "The New
Superpower" China isn't even in the top 22. While Luxembourg and New Zealand
are.
