Default 1998 ASW24 water bag leak where bag meets PVC valve

It's leaking where the bag is clamped to the PVC pipe just before the
ball valve with the push rod. It's likely original as I bought it
with 230 hours in 2008. When I remove the clamps, what will I find
for the seal? Is the existing sealant RTV or a gasket? What to use to
re-seal it? Will I damage the bag in the area of the clamp due to old
dried goop? Thanks, Bruce
