"Pip pin" is correct. "Axel" is not. An "axle" is a shaft used to locate and contain a rotating mechanism.
An "axel" is a jump in skating with a forward takeoff from the forward outside edge of one skate to the backward outside edge of the other, with one and a half turns in the air. And you probably installed a cotter pin, not a pip pin. Just sayin' |

People will use them interchangeably. Like: to, too, two, there, their, they're, lose, loose, your, you're, bow (in it's many pronunciations and definitions) and so on. And I won't even start on the poor misguided apostrophe. Let's just say that some parts of the country must be suffering a shortage, since so many extras are being misused in Moriarty. |
