Ask me! I'm from Laos, my father is Thai. I speak, read and write
Thai and Laotian, plus a couple other languages. I was in Thailand just last New Years Eve. stayed there only two weeks though. You are correct John, Farlang means French or Caucasian. It is their
way of saying France. "Farlang" is Laotian, You do not Roll your toungue when you say this word in Laotian. You pronounce the "L" in the second syllable. The eastern part of Thailand used to be Laos, and the people from that region pronounces it like the Laotians. "Farrang" is Thai, you roll your toungue or pronounce the "R" in the second syllable.
