How is hurricane Frances treating you?

We cut our Labor Day trip short, in order to get back to the Atlanta area
before the winds picked up beyond the ability of this pilot and his RV-6 to
manage. Upon arrival at our home field, there was a direct crosswind
varying between 10 and 14 knots, with gusts to 18, IIRC. My personal direct
crosswind limits are roughly 15 knots if the wind is steady or 10-12 knots
in gusty conditions. I have landed in worse, but I'd prefer to avoid those
conditions.

My nagging fear was not being able to land at my home field, where I have a
hangar, then having to leave the airplane on the ramp somewhere directly in
the path of the approaching storm.
