(Horn Lake) approval document covers all 302s currently in the field, and future production of 302s by Horn Lake. I confirm what Marc said above. A 302 is a 302 whether it was purchased through Martinsville or Horn Lake. The same with the older models 10, 20 and 25. The build-standard of units originating from Martinsville or Horn Lake was the same, as far as IGC is aware. All previous IGC-approvals for Cambridge recorders continue under the terms of the two IGC-approval documents now on the gliding/gnss web pages under the Cambridge name. One document is for the 302 series, the other for the earlier models 10, 20 and 25. The difference for people who used to deal with Martinsville is that any future servicing or updates will be through normal commercial arrangement with Cambridge Aero Instruments Inc at Horn Lake, Memphis, MI. The details given on their IGC-approval documents a MANUFACTURER: Cambridge Aero Instruments Inc, 1565 Dancy Boulevard, Horn Lake, Mississippi 38637, USA. These codes were never used, as far as we know, and there should be no recorders out there with the new codes. If there are, would the owner(s) please email me and we will get the situation sorted out. These new codes for Martinsville were CLC and M (standing for Cambridge LLC and Martinsville), compared to the traditional Cambridge codes of C and CAM for use with IGC format files and *.CAI for the legacy recorder binary files. -- Ian Strachan Chairman, IGC GNSS Flight Recorder Approval Committee Bentworth Hall West Bentworth Alton, Hampshire GU34 5LA ENGLAND Tel: +44 1420 564 195 Fax: +44 1420 563 140 |
