Default FS Cambridge CAV-II

FS: Cambridge CAV-II $250 USD

It is presently installed and working great. I just need a mechanical
vario for back up instead of an electric vario. I will consider trades
for a good 80mm Winter Vario.

Why go from a working electronic vario (with audio, I assume) to a
slower, non-audio mechanical vario? My choice was to sell my good
(for a mechanical) Winter 57mm vario and replace it with a really good
VW900, with audio, and set up my ship's electrical system to be fully
redundant (two batteries, separate circuits, can be switched in any
combination). Even when the batteries are too low to run the radio,
glide computer, or GPS, they will power the vario.

Different philosophies, of course - I hate having to look at a vario
while thermalling, especially low, and especially if I'm used to using
audio on my primary system.

Just a thought...

My preference is a small B40 with 9V backup. I'd rather have the beep
beep and look out the window.
