Unfortunately I haven't heard that anyone has modified the extensions
yet - but you could try to ask Schleicher. If anyone has done that,
I'm pretty sure they know about it (becuse they need to confirm that
the wing structure is strong enough for the additional load of the
winglet).

Pretty interesting conditions you are flying in - I thought NZ was
that place on earth where cruise speeds below 100 kts and cruise
altitudes below 15.000 ft over a 500 km triangle were regarded as
local flights.

No, that's the *South* Island. The place where they don't have any
PW-5's. We have 25 of them in the North Island and they're well-suited
to the conditions.
