Actually, I'm based on the north side of Lake Pontchartrain at ASD...
While on my DoD contract for the Navy, it was near NEW, so I was able to sometimes fly to work... Didn't save *that much* time over driving, but it was nice anyway... My plane at ASD was perhaps 1-1.5 miles from my front doorstep... Not quite a fly-in/fly-out community, but close enough... The main airport in New Orleans is MSY, not NEW... I've flown into both though...
