Hi,
It would be very interesting to see if your thermalling improves, gets worse, or is unchanged after removing the quick response from the vario. Pilot "satisfaction" will be greater, thus making him happier + mode confident in his instruments - improvement ! I have no trouble thermalling with my smooth acting mechanical vario, but I think my "jumpy" electric vario shows me more about the shape of the thermal I'm in than my mechanical vario. You're right, and that's what I'm aiming at: a fast response electric vario (which is OK as it is now), and a smoother mechanical vario. Ludovic |
