The CO writes:

The 2 survivors of the crash are on their way back to Australia for
further treatment. They were pulled from the wreckage by an
Indonesian civilian just before it burst into flames.


It would be nice to see the GG award this guy for his bravery in
getting two people out of the wreck. No hope of anyone in the govt
doing it I'd expect.

It was reported in Yesterday's Australian that Defence were looking into
giving him an award. From the reports he seems to be a very brave guy. He
deserves the best they can give.

The media also reported that the crew of the Kanimbla want to go and help
rebuild his town.

Let's wish them success and hope that everybody gets right behind them and
backs them up.

Good point, but I am not sure what gongs are available to award to citizens
of another country. My guess is the chances would improve dramatically if
Ms Corby was released.
