Well, I guess that's what happens when you're counting things "by hand"
while working...

The phone musta rang when I got to your page!

I understand. Thirty two aircraft is a lot of aircraft to try to count
by hand. Even if you used your feet, you still come up short by 12
digits.

BE35 owner who was not counted. I guess a more southerly route across
the US during my late May trip is needed to find an Inn owner with
better counting skills.

I can count to more than a thousand on my fingers.

Man, that's a lot of fingers. Maybe next time Jay will hire you to
provide this group with the Rogue's Gallery statistics.

*NEAT* trick. Most people run out of _fingers_ at a binary count of 256.

Are you related to Hemingway's cats? grin

I presume that he's counting his thumb as a finger, as do most people.

I can just see the delivery room scene:

Doctor: "Congratulations, your baby has eight fingers!"

Mother: "Oh my god! The ultrasound showed a perfectly normal fetus!"

Doctor: "...and two thumbs."

Mother: "(*&^#$^* Okay, Dr. Idiot...why don't you just come a little closer
here..."

"Q. If you call a tail a leg, how many legs does a dog have?
A. Four. Calling a tail a leg does *not* make it a leg!"

Applies equally to thumbs/fingers.

It would if the thumb were not a finger.

Look it up in the dictionary. The thumb qualifies as a finger. It's a
special finger, to be sure, and is *sometimes* distinguished from the
fingers. But only a Usenet pedant would go around claiming that every
normal human being has only eight fingers.

Why is it that when I hold up my hands infront of me, I count ten
fingers? ...but when I stick them down my trousers, close my eyes, I
count eleven? ...and a couple of golfballs?

I just love riddles. I think I know the answer to this. Somebody else is
wearing your pants!

Sorry, I know I haven't been around long enough for that , but I just had
to.
