Check out the AF/D... One of the runways there is used as a C-17 Assault
Landing Strip. It's very interesting to see the military ops, so I'm told. Chris Fred Choate wrote: Thanks, I will try to do that. I am picking up my 9 year old daughter, so she would get a kick out of flying up over the dam. Thanks for the info Folks...... Fred "Charles Oppermann" wrote in message ... Ahhh......that is good to hear. Does ATC put you on the big runway most of the time, or do us little guys get to use 18/36? The times I've flown in there, I've always been routed to 4/22, which is 10,000x100. Twice I've seen Boeing 747 doing touch and go's on 14/32, the big one at 13,500x300. One night the ATIS had a warning about miltary activity running lights out in the pattern. It's a nice airport and you'll have fun. If you have some spare time, fly up to Grand Coulee Dam, a little to the north. Enjoy! |
