Since you'll be there so many days, I'd plan activities around any
forums you want to hear. Get the schedule off of the airventure.org site. On my first visit back at the first named "AirVenture (R)" we drove into the site. Coming off the highway I looked at all the vehicles parked along Rwy 9-27 and commented "Wow! Look at all the cars parked there." As we got closer I noticed "Hey! Those aren't cars." I was there for 4 days, and spent the first 3 days just walking around seeing what was there. I then realized that we had walked by almost everything, but hardly spent time at any one thing. There were some speakers and workshops I would have liked to attend during those days that were no longer available. There's an incredible brain trust on that airport that week. Take advantage of it. I would especially take time to hear Hoover, Crossfield, Yeager, Anderson, etc. speak. They won't be around forever. Make sure don't miss hearing them in your lifetime. Adm. Stockdale spoke there a couple years ago with his absolutely fascinating military story. He's no longer with us. HamGuy wrote: Thanks for all the replies. I Plan on Spending Wendesday thru Sunday there camping out. Hope to see many of you there HAMGUY |

Or the controller laughing in the background.
Those idiot controllers would do better to stop laughing and start concentrating on their job. I've witnessed far too many controller ****-ups at OSH. Best to lose the party atmosphere at Fisk, on the moocows, and in the tower and start doing their job. Really? I've been there for 23 years, and I've only seen ONE (count 'em, one) controller f*ck up -- and that was an error of omission (not clearing a guy to land when he was on short-final) rather than one of commission. Given the thousands of operations I've witnessed, that's pretty amazing. Which isn't to say I haven't witnessed dozens of screw ups -- but they've all (with that one exception) been pilot errors. -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |
