Gasoline is still very scarce and waits of 3-4 hours to get to the pumps are not uncommon. Here on the Eastern Shore, it appears about 90% of power has been restored, but in Mobile County there are still large areas blacked out. It still boggles my mind how much more damage there is here than there was from Ivan, a strong storm that hit much closer. The storm surge in Mobile Bay was the highest ever recorded, going back 150 years--that's from a storm that hit 120 miles away. -- Dan C172RG at BFM |
