Unfortunately, your message will be lost on most people when they read this
passage. It invokes an image of a hate monger. Women and minorities can and
do provide excellent experience levels at numerous FSDOs. Instead, why not
focus on the real problem. With the FAA's contrained budget, its employees
are overloaded in a mountain of work and the experienced people get fed up
and go back to the private sector.

I agree with your comment that the take-home message from the OP is
one of racism and bigotry, instead of a constructive message. I
can't speak about the FAA, but the state agency I work for has enough
money; it's paralyzed by too many weak and timid managers, and since
the salaries aren't competitive good, experienced people go elsewhere.

Remember boys and girls, that this is a troll who monthly (or there-abouts)
posts this message. Let's not make his day by responding every time.

I think the OP is complaining that hiring and advancement in the FAA
too often are based on things other than experience, ability and
performance, and that the FAA, like other government agencies, too
often wastes money on things that are not central to its mission.

The OP appears to misplace blame for this situation onto women and
minorities. In fact, lower technical standards and wasted money are
really the symptom, not the cause of the problems there. The real
problem is bad management.

You are correct sir. While people focus on ignoring the "race" and "sex"
the facts and shooting the messenger
or labeling them "racist" etc. the facts are this.

Most of the management now in the FAA is something other than
"hetrosexual white males"
The FAA is in crisis precisely for the reason you mention. Loss of
mission focus and bad incompetent management.
Politically Correct hiring is more important than air safety in the new
FAA. I know personally
of a high level FAA manager in the Atlanta area who is black that can't
spell. A man that is
making over 6 figures on your TAX DIME who is unable to spell or write.
You know the chaos in New Orleans with the "Black" mayor?
The FAA is just like that on a bigger scale. Most of the experienced
white males have left or are so ****ed and demoralized
that the mission is slowly degrading. It is a crisis that will manifest
in tragedy if not corrected soon.

Read this again and study it. Get used to it. It will get worse

Terror in the skies Tuesday September 27th over California: Five
dangerous passes and at least two near-mid-air collisions, according to
air traffic controllers. One involved a UPS flight en route to Orange
County, Calif., from Louisville, Ky. -- another a Boeing 757 (search er
jet headed to San Diego from Detroit. The incidents occurred shortly
after controllers lost radio contact with 400 aircraft coming in and out
of airports across the West -- when a computer unexpectedly shut down
because technicians forgot to service the computer as required every 30
days. Because they did not dump the hard drive, the computer
overloaded. The backup system also failed, stopping radio transmissions
to pilots in mid-sentence. Controllers describe the next 13 minutes as
"chaos," as some planes began to converge. So close was one incident, the
onboard collision avoidance alarm sounded, forcing the UPS pilot to go
into an abrupt climb to avoid a private jet below.

Most of the population of the planet is something other than "hetrosexual
white males"

You forgot to mention the race of the technician who forgot to service the
computer. Why? In fact, your story doesn't seem to support your position at
all.

You are completely missing the point. You are hiding behind the race
card and shooting the messenger.

1. The FAA was formed in 1958 by primarily white technical males from
engineering colleges and the military.
The FAA operates the National Airspace System. The FAA is a highly
complex 24/7 function. During the Clinton
administration, a massive push to hire anything but white males came
along. Since Clinton took office, most white males have been
belittled and run off. In other words over night a politically correct
edict came out to get rid of white males. The FAA was BUILT
by white males. White males have traditionally been the backbone of our
technical organizations. You can't change that overnight.

2. Diversity and different ideas is a good thing when APPLIED PROPERLY.
You don't fill a job based on sex or race in a critical safety
of flight job you hire the best. If the FAA "wanted the best" why do
they refuse to use a NUMBERED BID SYSTEM?????

3. A NUMBERED BID SYSTEM would make sure (And this applies to NASA, FBI
etc. also) that only the BEST are hired. There is no bias.
There is no social engineering or favoritism. The person doing the
hiring has no idea of the sex, age, race of the applicant.

4. Why not? Because it would upset "Diversity" goals. And that goal is
to hire women and blacks at all cost REGARDLESS of the safety or
work impact with a LEFT OVER OUTDATED CLINTON Administration edict. If
the FAA is so adamant about hiring the best as stated in public
and in writing, why are they afraid of a NUMBERED BID SYSTEM???

I am not racist or sexist. I have a daughter and a wife and black
friends. My family doctor is BLACK. However, when I am flying in a metal
tube
going 600 miles an hour or my family, the person up front and the people
on the ground need to be THE BEST

Affirmative Action and Diversity is destroying America, NASA, the FBI,
the FAA and our Government. IT IS WRONG

If 10 jobs come open on a NUMBERED BID SYSTEM and they are filled by all
black females, so be it.
They are qualified. But when you hire JUST to meet a QUOTA you DO NOT
get the best.

Example. When the edict came down back in the early 90's during the Al
Gore re-inventing Government, blacks and women
continued to flunk out of the FAA Academy. Some of the schools I
attended in the FAA Academy were similar to high level college
engineering and physics courses. What was the solution?? LOWER THE STANDARDS

I personally witnessed 2 people flunk out of the FAA Academy. One was
Black (Female) and one was White (Male)
The white male was fired. The Black Female was not only "Accommodated"
in a lesser technical job, she continued on to management
and a high paying job.

Is that right? Do you promote fairness in an organization like that?

IF?? the FAA is serious about SAFETY, they will go to a NUMBERED BID
SYSTEM for all their critical safety functions
It WILL take public pressure for that to happen however. It WILL NOT
come from within the FAA because the mediocrity is firmly entrenched

I have no idea what the sex or race of the recent incidents were.
However, I know what the FAA is now. I spent
27 years with them. It is serious and a dangerous situation. A numbered
bid system is the only fix. As long as diversity
and affirmative action poisons critical Government jobs, the chaos like
New Orleans and the near disaster in LA and Las Vegas
will continue. Until one day WHAM. Lot's of DEAD people.

You suppose this is the background reason the Bush administration is
trying to contract out all the government services?
What kind of organizations do you suppose have the resources to win the
contracts?

:-))

Any company that won a government (FAA) contract would have to have the same
Affirmative Action rules in place that the FAA has.

The US has given up being a meritocracy (a very distinguishing American
characteristic) LONG ago.

When government fails, the cry is not to scrap it and build anew, it's to
give even more money and resources. In the present form of cronyism, the
same status afflicts the world of commerce (HP being a most obvious
example).
