Uh, not quite.

Most, if not all, of those pictures are from a different, though very
similar, Jet Blue incident.

Note the water next to the runway, the ice on the runway, and the man
in cold-weather gear... at LAX??? Nope. Not to mention that the name
of the plane is different from the LAX incident.

Cheers,
Kev

To say nothing of the extra tire.

All photos are from the September 21 landing at LAX.

That's foam on the runway, and the man is wearing a light windbreaker with a
hood. It's typically windy at airports. Can't say that I noticed the name on the
9/21 plane, but the number on the gear door is the same.

Drink is the curse of the land. It makes you quarrel with your neighbor.
It makes you shoot at your landlord. And it makes you miss him.

I'm with Kev on this one...

That's light, blowing snow (they didn't foam the runway at LAX, did they?)
That man is wearing much more than a light windbreaker (looks like Eddie
Bauer to me...). You wouldn't see water standing perpendicular to the
runways at LAX.

Kev is right. After posting, I located some better shots of the 9/21 plane.
Definitely a different case.

Hey George! Hehehe

Sorry George, I'm w/ Kev on this too. First picture gear aligned 90*
to the right, all others, gear aligned 90* to the left.

Also, in the first picture, half of the horizontal cylinder, just above
the pivot elbow, is black whereas in all other pitures, the cylinder is
all silver.

No, it isn't. The 9/21 plane was number 536 and was called Canyon Blue.
Some of the images in question are of this plane, but others (including
the one with the man in the windbreaker) are of plane #503, apparently
named Bluebird.

Plane 503 has its gear doors fully open. Plane 536 landed with the main
nose gear door closed.

Plane 536 only has one tire left at the end. Plane 503 has both tires.

If you look closely you can also see that plane 503 didn't grind the
wheels down quite as far as 536. 536 went past the hub; 503 didn't.

Finally, plane 503 pretty clearly has a chunk of ice, not foam, up
against the wheel.

Interesting -- I've been "had"! Oh well, they're worth exactly what I
(and you) paid for them...

:-)

I received this guy's email right before leaving the inn for my "weekend"
(Wed/Thu) yesterday, and (obviously!) didn't look at them very closely
before posting them.

They're still amazing pix -- I'll just have to re-label the page.
