here is a suggestion: get a buddy in the same situation, and
fly with him/her with one of the two under the hood at all
time; both of you can log PIC and sharing the cost...


That's what the rates on multiengine.net are based on. All rates are
quoted 1/2 assuming two pilots sharing the cost. If you get your MEI
you can also log PIC while the other guys logs PIC too. A good reason
for the MEI.
