news:UvZif.585716$_o.143533@attbi_s71... You should have came over onto the Omaha sectional and stopped by on your way. I thought monsters lay (lie?) off the edge of the sectional... Maybe that's why I've never been on the Chicago sectional? ;-) I know it's dumb, in this age of moving-map-GPS, but we truly are artificially limited by our sectional boundaries. When we're thinking of places to go, we just whip out the map and start hunting around for likely targets -- and that means that anything "off the edge" never seems to get seen. For example, there are quite a few airports in southern Minnesota (less than an hour away) that we've never been to, simply for that reason. It's really dumb. What airport are you based at again? Maybe we'll have to explore "off the grid" one of these days? It must be a 'border war' thing like Iowa/Wisconsin/Minnesota during college football season only for us flyers, it's between the Omaha and Chicago sectionals. My plane is still hangared up at St James (JYG) for a few more months then I'll move it down here to Fairmont (FRM) when the new hangars get built. It's only 2.5 hours in my plane from JYG to IOW at 78 knots. One of these daze... ;-) -Greg B. |
