The lifter spalled off chunks shortly after that decision and the pistons picked the debries up on the skirts and scored the cylinders... His 'repair' on a 700 hour engine is now $10K.... Pull a cylinder and borescope the cam... Not a lot of bucks or downtime to do this and you can make an informed decision, not a guess... That seems to be the most rational move to make at this point. |
