I didn't even know the reference was in my MD's notes. It's unfortunate, however, that the system encourages pilots to be less than forthcoming. The medical exams should serve some purpose. Because of the seemingly arbitrary nature of some of the decisions based on the medical, though, the process seems to discourage candor to the AME, and that's not helpful to aviation safety. Wiz There is no evidence a Class III medical has any positive effect on aviation safety. It for the most part keeps healthy people from flying as you have found out. |
