When using a circular saw your body should not be in line with
the blade. This is because they sometimes 'kickback' and when
that happens you do not want something like your femoral artery,
intestines, or the family jewels to be there.

So a saw is right-handed if the handle is to the left of the blade.
E.g. gripping it with the right hand puts your body to the left of
the saw with no part of your body in line with the blade, unless
you go out of your way to put it there.
