You'll need to do a W, no need for the B. Four people, full fuel, camping gear... and you do weight only? I can agree with that. In my 182 there's no way to have an aft cg problem with a legal gross weight. The only way to have a forward cg problem is with full fuel and nothing in the back. Not for takeoff... for landing. On several occassions, I have filled the rear baggage compartment up to the mid-windows level. It is very easy to scrape/drag the tail tiedown ring if you are not aware of the CG location (takeoff and landing) and are prepared to fly accordingly. |

Definitely more elevator authority with a load in the back. I was just commenting on the legal W&B envelope. Mike |

Ok, we got the C182 W&B thing figured out and it seems the problem is weight. Easy solution. Move up to a C208. Think of it a just a little larger, all weather C182. Same easy handling, solid IFR platform and you can still stay dry under the wing when unloading in the rain. gg. That Cessna corp pretty much has the whole SEL market covered. Can't really say that for any other AC producer. Howard C182 |
