You mean you still use TiVo?? You are so last century. There's free
or cheap alternatives that are much better and no monthly fees.

Nobody who has ever used both a TiVo and the free or cheap alternatives
would say that they're "much better". The user interface for MythTV and
your average cable company DVR sucks donkey dongs compared to TiVo. And
a TiVo box is extremely cheap compared to a decent PC to run MythTV on,
which has to be balanced against the $7/month cost of the TiVo service.

Plus DirecTivo is the only interface I'm aware of that supports two
tuners. These old fashion guys with their Media Center or other "free"
DVR system actually have to change what they are watching when the DVR
wants to record something. Man, I'm happy I don't live in the dark
ages.

As does my Cox Cable HD DVR.

I also have an alternate input which allows me to at least watch the basic
channels (2-99) in the event both signal paths of the DVR are tied up.

My DVR has two tuners. No TIVO, no cable box. Just a recorder.

Same as my DirecTV unit.

Of course, everything we want to record in watch is always on at the
same time, so we get the "I need to change one of the tuners message". G

Which means that you're paying an extra $5 per month for PVR use... And
perhaps another $5 per month for renting that unit... I have probably
the first PVR unit that DishNetwork came out with (which I bought)...
Since it doesn't do the video-on-demand stuff that the new ones do,
there is no way for DishNetwork to know that it is a PVR unit attached
and as such, I don't have to pay the extra $5 for PVR access... Yeah, it
only does around 20-30 hours of recording, but unless I'm gone on
vacation it's unlikely that I need that much storage space anyway... I
just wish there was an easier way to transfer the stuff from it's
harddrive to my computer than a 1:1 realtime playback and record...

There are non-DirectTV Tivos that have two tuners as well. I have one.
