How on earth can you stand all of that crap on the glare shield? There is a reason that it is painted flat black; to keep a bunch of reflected white from going up on the windshield, and into your eyes. -- Jim in NC |

reason that it is painted flat black; to keep a bunch of reflected white from going up on the windshield, and into your eyes. -- Jim in NC Only because it's out of my way and it gets put back onto my lap after takeoff, I just prefer not to have a kneeboard and checklist strapped to me during takeoff because, well, It's easier to move about without a kneeboard on you. In cruise flight they're not up there, but for taxi and takeoff I don't see (no pun intended) a problem with them being there. |

When I took my first lesson (in my Dad's C-120) the instuctor got in, scanned the panel, said "hang on for a second" and dashed back into the FBO where he "borrowed" a bean bag ashtray and set it on the glare shield.
