Not at all. Golfers out number pilots many times over and often are the
movers and shakers in a community. If you think they have less
political influence than pilots, you are sadly uninformed.

I didn't say they were right, I simply said they have a LOT more local
influence than do pilots. At least in any community other than maybe an
airpark with a golf course!

They don't have that much influence over Aurora. It's the busiest GA
airport in Oregon.

A few years ago, there was a purple star-spangled PBY Catalina parked out by
the fence and when the P-38 Jeff Ethell was flying crashed,
it was rebuilt at Aurora. There's also government stuff going on in those
hangars that probably only a handful of people know about, but I don't think
the golf community there would have any impact on their operations. It's
not a fight the Charbonneau community could win.
