So, just curious -- what qualifications do you possess that makes you
an "official" old man now?

I'll never tell :-) But my wife I think can be bribed :-))
D

Jeez, Dudley, you're not gonna make us go over your head now, are you?

No, I hear they left the pattern in a hurry.

Jose

It was avoiding that damn T Rex who kept running out on the runway every
day that was REALLY a PIA :-)

Happy Birthday from me, too! Next time you are in DAB area, give me a
call. You need a Rocket ride!

Hi Orval;
Thank you. Janet was just here this week. In fact we just put her
on the plane to return to Ormond Beach this morning. We'll
probably not be down this year but thanks much for the invite.
The Rocket sounds like fun. Not sure if Pop Johnson designed the
Culver Cadet, but I flew one years ago and remember his name
being mentioned at the time.
I loved the old airplanes. Even flew a Mooney Mite several times.
Nearly everyone who gets a chance to fly one of these "old
critters" marvels at their performance compared to the more
"modern" spam cans :-)
Anyway, have a great summer down at Spruce Creek.

Thank you very much to both you CJ, and others on these groups who have
taken the time to be a friend.

Now we know the date... what was the year? Is it true there were
pteradactyls in the pattern when you soloed? G

Nah...pterodactyls weren't invented yet. :~)

All right, you have my curiosity aroused; just who the hell invented
Pterodactyls ? :-)

The Ogg brothers (Thag and Grog), if Gary Larson's "Far Side" is to be
believed.

Well, there IS this sort of folk lore story on the net about the time I
attended a Cub Scout meeting as a guest to address the scouts and answer
questions about flying. After my little "speech", one small fellow in the
back raised his hand and when I called on him, he asked me what Wilber and
Orville Wright were REALLY like :-))

Yeah...but what were the Montgolfier brothers like?
