Hello Gang,
In this newsgroup over the past 15 years or so I have been a lurker, a
poster, a mega poster, and then back to being a super silent lurker.
During this time on several occasions I have been privileged to meet
some of the members of this newsgroup in person, and I was honored to be
asked to write a guide for this newsgroup (and weathered an incredible
storm of protests regarding it). Unfortunately though the time has come
for me to do a bit of personal budget crunching and cancel my
subscription to the Giganews news service. In the distant future as my
fortunes change, and shift I may make return, but don't count on it, on
the other hand count against it either....

It may seem a touch melodramatic making a statement about my departure,
and some will question the need for me to publicly say it. But the last
time I vanished for several months, someone spread a tale that I was
dead, and I don't want a encore performance of that. It was rather
disconcerting to have E-mails bouncing all over the place asking if I
was truly dead.

I may lurk for a day or two longer, as I think I have a few days left on
this month's subscription but sadly the time has come to say good bye.

So happy aircraft chasing, and I wish the best of luck to the ABPA and
all it's members...

Thanks for all your contributions. We can probably both remember
when this group was created as an off-branch of the vehicles binary
group in the mid 1990's. In my opinion it is one of the finest groups
in all Usenet, remarkably free of politics, flamefests, porno postings,
flooders and commercial spam.

I too resented being forced into Giganews when my ISP abruptly
cancelled usenet access, but it is a cost I have found worth it. Do
come back if your circumstances change.
