It says something of the design philosophy that was followed at DHC, and
more of the market niche they carved out for themselves. I do not think
they ever built anything faster than a Mossie. Buffs, Caribou, Beavers,
Chipmunks, Otters, Twin Otters and Dashes were all slower, yet all
post-date the Mossie.

ALL of the following were faster than the mosquito:

de Havilland Sea Vixen, Vampire and Venom - and that's only the fighters!

The Comet and Trident also come to mind.


Yes, but those are not products of DHC -- De Havilland Canada. Yes, the Mossie
was not an *original* product of DHC, unlike those that followed it, but it
was the major effort.


Ah, so the Mosquito was the red herring!
