See you next year, I hope. I won't be there this year either, because my
son was unkind enough to schedule his wedding on the last Saturday of
Oshkosh. /;-)

??? Jeez, Jim, even Mary's SISTER scheduled her wedding around OSH! (She
knew Mary wouldn't be there, otherwise...)

You need to put that boy over your knee, Jim...

Bummer but I can understand Jim. Left Coast - OSH via the Arrow is
right at 3 AMUs in airplane/fuel/hotel/etc. costs. With a couple
other things going on for me this year, the Arrow will stay home
while I take the big aluminum tube.

For Chrissakes, Jack, if it's the HOTEL that's holdin' you up, you can
stay at my place...

Shameless plug for fleapit "hotel"

hm, you hold a marriage in your family not so important than a trip to
OSH (one trip out of how many? 25?)?

pardon me, holding up flying and all up is good, no doubt, but IMHO you
must check your priorities again.

Marriage can happen anytime. There's only one Oshkosh, and it only comes
around one week a year...

Marriage only happens once (if done right). Oshkosh happens every
year... Miss one, catch the next ... all pretty much the same anyway.

I've been to 25 Oshkosh conventions. I figure I've got maybe 20 more left
in me before I can't take the heat, humidity, and walking. That means
that, all told, I will have spent less than a full year of my life in my
favorite place in the world before I fly West.

If I could choose only one place to be, it would be waking up in the North
40 as the first B-25 of the day flies low over our tent shortly after
sunrise. If there is a heaven, it's in Oshkosh during the last week of
July.

And you will have spent how many years with your wife at that point?
Yet you put Oshkosh ahead of marriage? Interesting set of values...

Not *my* marriage, Matt. We're talking about a relative's wedding.

BTW, Mary feels the exact same way about OSH as I do...

Which makes it all the more pathetic.
