Default Frees State Regionals 2009 - JS-1 fills the frame

The final results of the 2009 Free State Regionals are in at
www.ggc.co.za/fsr2009 .
By force of numbers, maybe, The JS-1s filled all podium places with ex-
World Champion Oscar Goudriaan claiming top spot.
Jonathan Cross of Magalies Gliding Club took the Club Class honours in
the [very] venerable Astir CS #151.

Regardless of reason for podium places, I think there should be a
standing ovation for the JS-1 initiative. In fact, all gliding
initiatives not involving the big three should be encouraged.

With the current pricing, delivery times, building quality, warranty
deals etc etc I strongly believe that a healthy portion of market
competition is good for us as customers.

I bow and salute the initiatives from JS, Antares and HpH, and also
gliders like Sparrowhawk, Alatus and that electric self-launch Klaus
Ohlmann is using/promoting and many more.

I think we all need it to avoid this sport becoming something for the
very rich only.

The JS-1 ia a proof of how much you can do today with small muscles
(money in this case) by using the right tools. Sob. :-).

I'm still waiting for that affordable electric self launch that can be
financed by three ordinary blokes having ordinary jobs.
