Pardon the naivete, but I will be in the area in mid-January.
Is soaring still possible at Caracole at that time of year and if so, is it sufficiently reliable to warrant a trip? If the answer is 'no', is there any location in the continental US where soaring can be done reliably in January?

January is likely to be wave season, or really puny thermals in our VFR short-short days. We have better thermals in summer, like the 14,000 thermal tops forecast for tomorrow!
