Many thanks, Tim and Richard. So I have a potential problem...
Any ideas on how long the internal battery might last? -John On Feb 21, 2:57 pm, Tim Newport-Peace ] wrote: Is my manual just plain deficient? If my Volkslogger really does have an internal battery, what will I experience when it runs out of juice, how long should it last, and who can replace it? -John Yes It does have an internal battery. It's most important function is that it maintains the Electronic Seal, without which your flights would be 'insecure' and not acceptable for badges/records. It also maintains the Real Time Clock between flights. This is not critical because even if the RTC loses time, it is corrected once satellite communication is achieved. You can replace the battery, but only a Volkslogger Dealer can replace the electronic seal, so leave it to the dealer to replace the battery, then if the battery is faulty, it's his problem. Flights are stored in non-volatile memory, so are not lost if the battery fails. |
