4.4 For an official National Championship, a minimum of four valid
competition days as defined in Rule 11.1.3 are required.

11.1.3 A valid competition day is a day on which every regular entrant
is given a fair opportunity to compete, and at least 25% of
Contestants achieve a Scored Distance not less than the Standard
Minimum Task Distance

Note the word "contestant." People who choose not to fly don't count.
It's a valid day if one pilot tries it and makes more than minimum
distance while everyone else sits in the box.

The 75 percent rule could lead to an interesting last day. Everybody
needs to slow down to make sure the last guy gets a good score.

Boy this is a gloomy subject of conversation

I predict:
They will get a contest.
It won't be much fun.
Still drying out from CCSC
UH

Betcha they don't get a valid contest, but I do agree that it won't be
any fun. My interpretation of long-range forecasts is that the
promised ridge of high pressure that was supposed to dry out south-
eastern New Mexico will fizzle mid-week as another push of moisture
comes in from the south. If they are lucky, the ridge may hold from
Monday till Thursday, but I think it'll fold early.

Accepting bets!

The Lubbock rain total loop shows 5-6 inches of rain here right at the
airport. It's still raining Sunday morning and a lake is forming on
the lawn outside my dorm window.

Spratt wrote of "Sailing the sea of Hobbs" but I don't think this is
what he had in mind.

That should be Saturday - The days are starting to seem alike.
