Side note "Captain's Paradise" and two other Alec Guiness movies on Turner Classic Movies Saturday October 23 at 10PM. Kind Hearts and Coronets at 8 PM and Last Holiday at 11:30 PM. Speaking of military movies, a couple of nights ago I started to watch the movie "Stop Loss" on the History Channel. It was pretty graphic from the beginning with the scene set in Tikrit, Iraq, lots of violence. Anyway, I was waylaid by an evening out with a friend. Anyway, prior to the film being presented, the host (s) of the show said that after the film, said that they would discuss how or if the movie in any way affected US military policy WRT stop loss. That begs the question ... Did the movie affect policy? - nilita |
