Microphones

Thanks Randy Just a guess, but in the cramped cockpit, it's easier to cross your opposite hand over to the mic than having it on the same side as the adjusting hand. The right hand is usually busy holding the control stick, so that leaves the left hand to adjust the boom.

Microphones
Some gliders have electrics etc. running along an accessible panel-
covered channel on the right side of the cockpit. Chris N
