That bracket looks a little...uh... "undesirable" in the event of a
bail out. My $0.02.

I mounted my FLARM on top of my fixed panel using 2" Velcro and
powered it with ships power. I also tried to use the FLARM GPS signal
to drive my SN-10 with no success. The manual states MNEA-0183 version
2.0 compatible GPGGA and GPRMC info at a configured data rate.

My question; Is this sentence compatable with the SN-10? I'm sure my
pin-out was correct.

Hi JJ,

Yes. The data sentences you mention above are all the SN10 needs. However,
be sure that you match the baud rates. The FLARM defaults to 19200 baud and
the SN10 defaults to 4800 baud. If you have somewhat recent software in
your SN10 you can set the baud rate to 19200.

That did it! So,if you want to drive the SN-10 with FLARM GPS, you
need to select 19200 baud on the NMEA (SN-10 page about 3 from the end
in setup mode). Now, I can leave the Garmin GPS off and only use it if
the FLARM GPS fails, saving about 100 m/a. I still have 2 GPS's and 2
flight recorders working all the time.

I read the amps as I turned on all equipment and got the following.
Dittle radio---.09
Alt encoder----.25
Becker Tnspdr--.2
Model 20 GPS---.11
FLARM (tracking).1
SN-10----------.17
B-400----------.1
With all the above on, GPS tracking and FLARM showing a target, I read
1.02 amps total. When I transmitted on the radio---------2.3 total
amps.
