While I don't know about Putin's ancestry, Stalin wasn't Russian, he
was Georgian (originally named Djugashvili or something like that).

By ancestry, 1/4 Danish, 1/4 English, 1/2 German. Johann Christian
Friedrich Granzow (my great-grandfather) was born in
Mecklenberg-Strelitz in 1820.

My father changed the spelling of the name, for reasons unknown,
before I was born.
