These are nice units - appear to be essentially the same as the Oudie 2 with possibly a better internal GPS (no "smoothing" issue)

That being said - I'm using an Oudie 2, both with external GPS and vario data in my LS6 and as a standalone nav unit in club gliders, and I'm really happy with it - the screen is fully readable even in bright Arizona sunlight, and while the internal GPS does have a bit of a problem while thermalling, it's still fully usable for navigation and final glides. Biggest effect I've noticed is that thermalling circles are a bit jagged - but with no vario input, SYM is pretty weak as a thermalling aid anyway.

As far as price - broadly speaking, by the time you get all the bits and pieces put together, the difference is the price of the software (Duh!). I've been using SYM for several years now and really like it; having played around with LK8000 (pretty, but way too many numbers that I don't need or want to see!) and XCSoar (pretty, but still can't setup the display the way I want, and it does things I don't want without a way to shut them off) it was a no-brainer to go with the O2 and stay with SYM. Also, those other devices are still not shipping yet!

But if you like LK or XCS (and they are both impressive software with some features I hope SYM will copy soon), then these other systems make a lot of sense - and the smoothed GPS could be a decider if it was going to be mainly a standalone unit.
