There is one great app called IXGYRO .. which is a good test for build in gyros , accel sensors and magmetic comp sensor .. along with the gps of course ...

Could you check if this app would work .. as I found to my dismay that it works ONLY on the better equipped tablets .. (unfortunately not my galaxy ") ...

This would strictly contribute to the XCSOAR stability on such device ..
As of sunlight readability ... custom build shade would do just fine, I have a perm one, some 3" deep enclosing tablet permanently set on the panel ..

OK I downloaded the demo version of that on my Nexus7, and it looks
solid to me.

Also, I have an ap called "GPS status" that convinces me that the GPS in
the Nexus is more sensitive than my hand held aviation GPS. Sitting
inside my house, the Nexus7 is receiving 10 to 12 satellites

Well .. thanks for confirming ixGyro .. (and yes.. I also use GPS Satus and GPS Sensors apps..) ;-) ..
In such a case you can expect a perfect results using XCSOAR ...
Anyone want to buy Samsung Tab 7" tablet ? ;-) ..
