Purchased some black "felt" at the local fabric store in preparation to felt my glare shield. Once I got the stuff outside the store in the sunlight, there appeared to be some sparkly polyester sheen to it. Any recommendations on type of fabric to kill glare? Jordan ASW20 E Consider "Flocking". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flocking_%28texture%29 If your glare shield is removable, you can take it to a local shop to have it done. It's better looking and more permanent than stick-on felt. |

They will use the best materials available and insure it's well cured. (If the flocking scratches off a custom dash, it's bad for the shop's reputation.) I suspect the DIY flocking materials have to meet product safety requirements. The pro's are allowed to use better, but less safe, materials because they have proper worker protection and ventilated spray booths. The pro's are just more experienced. |
