Hi
I have an Oudie connected to a GPS 25 and its works great. Assuming the wiring is correct there is one big possible Gotcha I am not sure anyone has mentioned. The GPS 20 has to be sent a message by the Seeyou Mobile on the 9 pin plug to command it to send out NMEA. For Seeyou Mobile (SYM) to do this you have to have the SYM set to both Cambridge GPS-NAV (in settings Hardware) and the correct speed 4800 speed It is very important that when you start Seeyou Mobile that the Cambridge logger is powered up, otherwise it may miss this message. In the Terminal window you can manually send the command to the Cambridge at the top of the window for test purposes type NMEA then hit send. So in summary assuming you have set up Seeyou mobile for the Correct speed and Cambridge hardware. I switch on the logger give it a minute to power up and send waypoints to its square display. (which is a separate processor) Then I start Seeyou mobile. Works every time :-) |
