Owned by the chief frog distributor himself. I imagine the wing profile is better than factory.
Nice rounded spoiler caps!
Tony: Dave Nelson's winglets aren't as large as John Neel's (ie: the former B4).

my, what large winglets he has.

Andy Brayer's 20 is awfully nice too...

Oh... My... Gosh...!!! How can he fly it when all the levers have the
same-looking handles?

Nice looking bird!

I have heard for John Neel that a 20 with winglets is very close in performance to the next generation aircraft. This sure is a pretty 20. I love the wood panel.

Well, I flew an ASW20 with winglets for about 400h, and it's still lightyears from the next generation aircraft (which would be an ASW27).

Not lightyears, but maybe few lightdays.

I disagree I don't always fly my best, but when I do I can keep up with ventus 2bx's and 27s for miles and miles. ask Erik Nelson!

i've flown a 27 and i don't prefer it over a 20. a 20 with winglets feels just as nice as to me.

i do prefer a ventus 2bx though, in terms of handling. it handles extremely nicely.
but for cockpit comfort the 20 is better in my opinion. i flew a discus for a long time, and then started flying a 20. got back in the discus once and was sore after about 2 hours.

I flew a Discus once and my back hurt for days. I swapped my LS-6 once
with a friend for his '20 and neither one of us was very happy. He
thought the '6 was twitchy and I thought the '20 was heavy. Diff'rent
strokes...

What the 27 does better than the 20 is climb well in chopped up thermals. What it does *really* well is the same with a load of water.

Given round thermals, a determined 20 driver can do very well against modern carbon and even win now and then, especially if there is ridge running involved. Integrate over the course of a long contest, and the odds accumulate against the 20.

Been on both sides of that equation! We have good days and bad days and that performance difference can be much more than the number after the W.
Good winglets do make slow flight a lot nicer.
Similar colored handles were mentioned. Discovered a while ago that in Australia the factory black spoiler handle, or in this case the cool wooden handles wouldn't pass a "Form 2" (Annual).
....Unless you can distract the inspector with the flying frog.
