My understanding of the rule is the new season, 2016, start on the 4th tuesday of september???

This is the rule from their web site.

1.3.2 Scoring period
The last day for flights to be scored in the current year is always the fourth Monday in September. The next day is the start of the scoring period for the following year.

So, it looks like the program is written to create a start of year date (4th Tuesday of September) and the rule is written to define an end of year date (4th Monday of September). Because, everyone knows the 4th Tuesday of a month is the day after the 4th Monday of a month, right? :-)

Accept it as what it is and lets keep flying!

You might want to hold off on that protest, Gary. You need 1000 points to move up in the "All Flights" category, but the guy behind you only needs 200 to move you back. Are you willing to take that gamble? :-)

season last weekend and we did forget to amend the rules in time. So
