I know the guy who was flying this. We were talking on the phone and
he mentioned he was going to the Cape. Jokes about the insect life in
Florida followed.

I told him I'd know when he got there, albeit somewhat after the fact.
He thought that was a little odd.

He'll really be perplexed when you echo back his words to him.
Things at Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center have gotten much better
regarding insects and critters. During the Gemini launches and Apollo moon
launches we not only dodged the mosquitoes but also the wild boar and gators
that we range rats displaced. Even now occasionally a Cape worker's car hits a
gator, but more and more of the roads are paved !!

Al, during one of the first explorer missions (unsuccessful) my dad killed
an 8(eight) foot rattlesnake IN the blockhouse, 16 rattles, I still have
it.......

BTW- You don't know what mosquito's are if you didn't live here in the 50's
or 60's.......
