Default Cold Weather Clothing?

Might look at OROS apparel.
they are making outerwear with a very thin layer of insulation adapted from NASA technology. Much more comfortable and does not have the cold spots of compressed down clothing.

Default Cold Weather Clothing?

I've got a pair of Hot Chilly's long underwear. They were recommended by my mother in law who used them when working security at University of Minnesota Football games in the winter, also an active that involves cold temperatures and not much moving around.

They've worked very well for me on early spring downwind dashes.

I might have to try Dan's recommendation to keep my toes warm though.
