I recently saw one private FLARM CORE with severely reduced ranges; they had hooked up to the FLARM B antenna, nothing on the FLARM transmit antenna. Switching it cured the problem.

Isn't it supposed to transmit from both antennas with the current firmware?

Hi Chris and Dan

Yes the coax is connected to the aircraft ground. The aerials are correctly connected. Both aerial outlets are activated in the unit and are used. The Flarm transmit and receive aerial is on the top of the aircraft and the receive only aerial is underneath on the starboard side just behind the firewall.

Cheers

Paul

Then I would try disconnecting it at the antenna end.

PowerFlarm transmits and receives on Antenna A, receives on B and receives on ADS-B.

True for PowerFlarm. This is in New Zealand, presumably using Flarm
down there, and yes current firmware is supposed to transmit and receive
on both A and B.

Please direct me the Flarm Model the transmits on both A and B Antennas and the manual that specifies this.

Dan,

Usually this indicates one of the internal boards is bad and need to be replace.

Craggy Aero is a Flarm Service Partner and can test and repair PowerFlarm Cores.
