Connecting lap top to CAI 302
Two comments;
1) The serial/usb switch position is only applicable to later model 302's (after Dec 2008). My older model doesn't have this feature. I am mentioning this so that when troubleshooting you ask which vintage of 302 they have (can't tell from the front?). Do the new models all have black cases while the old models have silver? Does an older 302 converted to USB ($175 with calibration) get a new black case? http://www.cumulus-soaring.com/cai/302-back.jpg rear view of old model http://www.cumulus-soaring.com/cai/302-USB-labels.jpg rear view of new model 2) The 302 memory issue - It seems to have several flavors. In my case I got a "could not get fat" error. In other cases there are security errors. My fix, and others, was to wipe the memory. I brought together all of the information I could find (from RAS, etc) into a single document available at; http://aviation.derosaweb.net/#cambridge302. Good Luck, John DeRosa |
