Default Trailer fittings - which plastic?

Hi all,

I am refurbishing a Komet trailer. The wing fittings have plastic rods to hold the spar end - I have always assumed this is "delrin" but of course when I look into what is available there are a zillion plastic types! What is the best choice? Or does it not really matter as long as it's softer than the spar bushings?

Thanks Ben

I does not matter much. I make pins like that out of PVC rod because it is readily available, machines easily and has no negative properties for this application.
I just made a set for a Komet.

Speaking of a Komet trailer, I have an LS-3a in a Komet and the factory set up the wing dolly's to use the forward spar pin. This is a very unstable situation and the wing really wants to flop over when running it in or out of the trailer. I set the right wing on the wing dolly using the rear spar pin and the wing skin was touching the dolly (believe this is why they opted to use the forward spar pin). Don't see why I couldn't grind / cut the offending corner off the wing dolly, so that both wings could use the rear spar fittings. The stops would have to be re-set and top capture fittings re-set (checked). Probably get inside the trailer with a flash lite and then ask Pat to close the trailer....................I wouldn't attempt this unless you have a very stable relationship with the wife!

Our LS4 in a Komet trailer uses the rear spar pin (closest to wing) for the wing dolly.
