Warrior Strobe Tube Replacement
Gang:
One of the wingtip strobes on our 1982 Warrior II looks like it is going bad. Half of it looks black and it only gives one blink per second while the other wing gives two blinks per second. I was perusing the Whelen catalog, and our strobe lamp assembly appears to have a pigtail terminating in a three pin Molex connector. My question is, how much fishing will I have to do to get to the end of that pigtail? Will I have to remove the wingtip, or can I reach it through the bulb socket assembly? Thanks for any insight, Jerry Malin, Warrior N82045 |

Should come right out when you remove the socket assembly....most likely two or three small screws and it will fall off in your hand. Getting only a single flash from the tube might not be a tube problem...more likely a power supply problem. I'd get it tested before replacing a tube. Craig C. |

To check the power supply, switch the leads coming out of it and going to the wingtip units. If the problem moves to the other wingtip, the power supply is the source of it. No Spam |

Since half the tube is black, the tube is definitely bad. Test the power supply by replacing the tube. George Patterson The British drink warm beer because they all own Lucas refrigerators. |
